In my research, study and experience, I found that “leaders are not born, they are made”. Leadership is a verb, not a noun. It indicates a set of personal attributes and behaviors. Our education system doesn't teach or discuss the aspects of leadership and hence very rarely we get exposure to the realm of effective leadership philosophies. At schools, we are trained to “compete with others” and work alone as a student. In employment and business, we are asked to “complete and complement each other” and work as a team.

Levels of Learning

Unlike other skills, leadership cannot be taught just by sharing slides and videos in a training program. We need to ensure managers change their behavior and a follow-up program is non-negotiable to achieve long-term sustainable and generative change.

Today's knowledge worker needs a powerful, practical and purposeful leadership development program with follow-up sessions. We need programs that are structured to guide participants through all 4 learning phases and equip them to inculcate the behaviors (Unconscious Competence) of an effective leader.
To facilitate this, I have designed blended training programs with a group training session followed by 3-month one-on-one “Leadership Coaching” sessions with participants. The goal of the group session is to introduce proven and pragmatic leadership philosophies and behaviors to lead people. During One-on-One coaching sessions, participants will transcend their current awareness and they own accountability for behavioral changes to transition from conscious competence to unconscious competence.

During One-on-One coaching sessions, participants will transcend their current awareness and they own accountability for behavioral changes to transition from conscious competence to unconscious competence. To know more about One-on-One Coaching please click here.
360-degree feedback and other behavioral or psychometric assessments will be leveraged on a need basis. These reports will be discussed in One-on-One Coaching sessions.

The outline of all my leadership development programs is in the below diagram.

The goal of these programs is to get the results that stick. My single point agenda for leadership development is to help people embrace the fact that “Leadership development is a process, not an event”. Once they embrace this philosophy, orchestrating the journey is easy and fun.
